Vera Head was a long standing Party member and stalwart volunteer for Lib Dem Women for many years. She died in 2026 at the age of 97. She had not long given up being a councillor.  As a member of the Liberal Party, she was a member of the Women's Liberal Federation, the forerunner to LDW. 

As a tribute to her, LDW have set up the Vera Head Kickstart Fund to give a LDW member who is seeking election as a councillor, a grant towards the cost of attending ALDC's Kickstart weekend.
