Helping Women Stand for Office

Standing for election can be expensive, not only taking up time but often imposing hidden costs throughout the campaign.

That’s why we’ve set up the Lib Dem Women Fund, to provide micro-grants and help cover personal expenditure that my be incurred for members of Lib Dem Women as they stand for office.

How it works

The grant is designed to cover one-off personal expenditures, this could include:

  • A pre-paid burner phone
  • Suitable clothes for canvassing 
  • Photography 
  • Funding towards attending ALDC’s kickstart weekend

The list above isn’t exhaustive and we will consider applications for items which help with complex challenges around disabilities, caring, etc  
All members of Lib Dem Women who have been members of LDW for at least 3 months and are standing for election or selection are eligible. Our criteria for offering grants is available HERE
To apply for a micro-grant, please complete the application form HERE.

Applications will be considered confidentially by a panel made up of Lib Dem Women executive members, on a case-by-case basis. There is no deadline for  applications.
